Dermal Fillers consist of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a substance that is naturally present within all living organisms and is a vital component of our skin. Like collagen and elastin, HA is lost as we get older, resulting in a loss of volume and support for the skin which causes sagging, grooves and lines on the face.
By injecting Dermal Fillers, we can restore this volume of the face, lift minor sagging of the skin and smooth out various depressions, such as asymmetries of under the eyes. This regains a more youthful appearance and may correct various defects to create symmetry.
Most dermal fillers will be administered under local anaesthetic for your own comfort. The deeper fillers such as cheek do not require local anaesthetic as there are no nerve endings here, however topical anaesthetic is applied to the skin.
Treatment results with this material are seen immediately but are temporary, lasting between 6-18months before normal contours return, depending on the area and product used.
