Gum recession

The patient had gradual recession on the lower incisors and was experiencing sensitivity to cold. The outline of the lower incisor roots can be seen through the thin gums. A keyhole approach surgery was utilised to gum graft the lower incisors. The result shows a thickened tissue which now protects the roots. Upper veneers to close spaces + gingivectomy

Mrs S started noticing more and more the short length and rectangular shape of her teeth. Dental Artistry is not just about teeth, but balancing their shape and dimensions with the face. In cases like these, we often either build up the back teeth or orthodontically move the teeth to open the bite and reduce biting stress. In this instance, Mrs S opted to cosmetically strengthen and protect her teeth, close the spaces and lift the gum, resulting in improved proportions and aesthetics of the teeth and smile to naturally match her feminine and soft facial features.

Crown lengthening

This dentist had short upper incisors resulting in a “gummy smile”. A simple surgery was performed to crown lengthen the upper front 8 teeth to give a more brilliant smile and remove the gummy appearance. When done properly these changes are permanent and have little to no maintenance. There was no need to restore the teeth with veneers in this case.
